Further to my "freedom from FEAR theory", let me share a few thoughts based on what i read in the sunday times. The scientific community has made some fantastic discoveries on the power of human thought, ranging from being able to move(literally) matter, to the possibility of communicating with aliens. In our ordinary mundane lives why cant it be used with great effect to overcome adversaries. Louise Hay, in the book "Affirmation of Power" writes "our thoughts create our feelings , beliefs, and expiriences. We can change our expiriences by first changing our thoughts. If our thinking is negative, we can drown in a sea of negativity: if it is positive, we can float on the ocean of life"

"You cant wear rose-tinted glasses all the time in the fond belief that thinking positive will automatically take care of all obstacles in our way" , is what aman will say...and how right he is!! However, approaching life with positive frame of mind will allow the mind to think better. On the other hand, by thinking too much abt the negative aspects of our lives,we end up amplifying the very things that anger, frustrate or depress us.

Modern psychologistC Lexander writes "When thought is brought to a focal centre by the use of the will, it acquires a thousand-fold the force it manifests under normal circumstances" and Gita said it long back "you are what u think, hence thought is action, Being and becoming: what one thinks, he becomes" Krishna helped invoke the power of thought in Arjuna to overcome his sorrow.

But the greatest tragedy seems to be that we ignore the fact that thoughts alone create actions.

The human mind is the master weaver, both of the inner garment of character and the outer garment of circumstance---and life is so circumstantial!!!

While positive thinking can not be a panacea for all ills, it can pave the way for to positive emotions that can help us think clearly, set achievable goals---(dont worry we all suffer from the angst of mediocrity), build resilience and move closer to happiness.

Thoughts enable us to heal or harm, create or destroy, love or hate. It is up to us to unleash and employ that power of thought in the right direction.

If thought is understood to be capable of being able to communicate with aliens, why not use it to communicate with ourselves and guide us to noble and glorious actions that define us? THREE IDIOTS SHOWED US THAT IN A LIGHTER VEIN & IN THE MOST APPEALING MANNER

every time i look at a bird, i wonder how free it is. literally, it epitomises freedom. however, once i was forced to wonder, is the bird really that free? it happened when a bigger bird tried to scare it away....jealousy? plain and simple oneupmanship? airspace ownership? no answers there really. an idiom goes..."the other side of the fence always looks greener".

well lets leave the birds and bees(no pun intended) aside, and talk abt human beings. most human beings want to have the cake and eat it too ie fly and also remain tied down(need to be needed), and why not? after all they are intelligent!!. at times it complicates things. but some simpletons could simply be content with what they have, like the birds may be.
some are bestowed with such a quality. they dont think too much, analyse even lesser, and take life as it comes. my father and eldest sister belonged to this category. They might have been belittled for being not too analytical, but i think they lead a less complicated life, experienced more freedom and had lesser fears. i am trying to emulate them, but the thinker in me, i find is a bit of an inhibitor. being an egoist i try to work it out differently, employing the dictum"dont give the liberty to any event or any person to make u unhappy"while it seems to work, it address my internal fears. so freedom still eludes me. freedom from fear, as most say, is the way forward.

Ah the dilemma of life.. We feel that we are the only ones with these thoughts yet almost everybody has them... kind of like.. http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/sheeple.png i guess.. but the point is we all have them and it would be indeed a great boon to get away from all these thoughts... achieve the true freedom...but there are constraints.. different for different people .. mostly its fear... And in the end it all boils downs to a choice i.e to "jump" or not to "jump".

And to end on a lighter note ...
